19: A Celebrity You Love That Others Seem To Dislike

*faints* This guy right here. . . is my boo!! haha I love him to DEATH! =)

*screams like a school girl* lol ok I'm alright now. Justin Bieber gets a LOT of hate but I've loved him since the beginning! I am a die-hard Belieber. Lets just have one more look shall we... =)

Okay, my day is made now haha.

Playing With Makeup

Hey Guys!

I received  my 88 Matte Palette from BH Cosmetics last Wednesday (review coming soon). The same day I was going to visit Karma and test out my look for Halloween. That ended up being a total BUST so I just played around and did my rendition of "80's Makeup". Now, I didn't really do any research, nor did I start off with this look in mind (I never do), but this is what I ended up calling it lol. The shadows are from the 88 Matte Palette, The waterline liner was my Purple NYX Slide On, Glide On pencil that I reviewed here. On my cheeks was one of the blushes from the Sedona Lace Blush palette and my lips consisted of a plethora of lip products lol.

*BONUS* Here's a picture of my Halloween makeup attempt. I was to happy, so I didn't smile.

I'll be posting Halloween pictures soon!! What are you guys going to be?!

I Have A Confession. . . . .

. . . .I miss my acrylics!!! *tear*

Day 16: A Celebrity You Find Beautiful
A lot may not agree with me, but I think she is sooo beautiful!
  Cameron Diaz

And I think she looks even more beautiful when she smiles! =)

My Skincare Routine

Hey guys!
I thought I'd share my current skincare routine with you today. I'm running out of some of the items and there are some other products I think I'm going to substitute in.

Haha, as you can see I like to stick with an entire brand. I do love Clean & Clear, I've been using them for a while now and they always give me great results.
  • Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser Scrub- I use this scrub every day. This is the newest addition to my routine, it replaced my Clean & Clear Foaming Cleanser because I was starting to have breakouts and I wanted a face wash with Salicylic Acid acne medication. It's a cream formula that has little beads in it to gently exfoliate the skin. It doesn't leave my skin feeling too dry and it washes off without leaving a residue.
  • Exfoliating Brush- Okay, so I have no idea what the official name of this is. I know its from Avon but when I looked it up online, I didn't see it. I'm going to let you in on a little secret, this is actually a brush for your feet *covers face* I know! My mom ordered it a while ago but never used it, kept it in it's box, I saw it and grabbed it. I would like a Clarisonic one day, but since I'm cheap, I got this. It has two settings and I use the "low" one[the "high" feels too harsh on my face]. I use this every other day and/or when I really want to deep clean my face. I haven't used any other facial brushes so I can't compare, but I really like this.
  • Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent- I've never really gotten the point of astringents honestly. I use it because it helps fight pimples[salicylic acid] and helps with my oil. Maybe that's the reason lol? I don't use this every day, sometimes if I'm in a rush I don't put it on after I wash my face. I try to use it majority of the time though because I want to combat pimples in every way possible! I just pour it on a cotton pad and rub it all over my face. It's a good product.
  • Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer- I first picked this up because I am not the type of person that can just wash my face and not put a moisturizer on afterward! I do not see how others do it. This also includes salicylic acid so it was a plus for me. It only takes about two pumps to cover my entire face and it doesn't leave it feeling dry[it actually states its for moisturizing dry skin]. The only con is that it can burn sometimes if you have a pimple or something that just burst on your face.

That, in a nutshell, is my routine. I don't use any serums or eye creams or anything like that. I personally don't think it's necessary for me at this time so that's why I haven't purchased any. I have extremely oily skin, these products work well for me when I use them all together. If you do not have oily skin, you may not want to use too many products with salicylic acid because it can be very drying to the skin.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what were your results? Also I'm thinking of switching facial cleansers, which oil-free products do you recommend?

Celebrity Challenge-Day 14

Day 14: A Celebrity You Feel You’d Be Good Friends With
She's so down to earth, we're both around the same age and we're from the South! I love her dearly:

Raven Simone

Wet N Wild's Purple Potion NOTD

I love this polish! Purple[not really] Potion is a black base polish with gorgeous magenta glitters. It is amazing. The only thing I don't like is the brush, which is not too horrible to make me never wear this polish again [obviously].

Sidenote:: I cut my nails back down because I was so tired of them breaking off. The damaged half from the acrylics hasn't grown out yet, so I'm still dealing with that. Also, I have finally gotten a chance to use the Cuticle Oil & Hand Scrub I mentioned in my Julep Maven post. They both work great! The hand scrub leaves my hands feeling super soft and I've seen and improvement in my cuticles since I use the oil every day and every time I do a manicure.

Celebrity Challenge-Day 13

Day 13: A Celebrity You Respect Purely For Talent

This woman's voice is so unreal to me, and the songs she comes out with are so easy to relate to! She's another one of my faves:

Chrisette Michele

A Look At: China Glaze's Halloween Crackle Set

[L-R It's Alive, Ghoulish Glow, Black Mesh Crackle, Top Coat]

I'm finally getting around to showing you the nail polish set I won from Makeup Chic, Literary Geek! This is a truly awesome set and I'm so glad I got the chance to add it to my collection. As you can see from the picture, it consists of:
  • It's Alive- An olive green glitter polish. This caught my eye from the first time I saw it and I actually went and purchased it on my own before I even entered the contest lol. It's such a wearable polish and it's very opaque for a glitter. I only have to put about two coats which is good whenever you're talking about a glitter polish.
  • Ghoulish Glow- A milky colored glow in the dark polish. I tried this out one day to see if it actually works, and it does! I can't say how long it lasts because I ended up taking the manicure off, but I've heard it lasts a good while. The only thing I didn't like about it is, when I put it over It's Alive, it toned down all the pretty green glitters and made this swamp-like film appearance on top of the polish[you'll see below in the swatches]. I'd suggest either using it alone or using a light hand with this, but that might compromise its glowing effect *shrugs*
  • Black Mesh Crackle- This just seems to be a typical black crackle polish. I didn't have one so I was glad to get it and it does seem to fit into the Halloween category because it can kinda look like spiderwebs. It dries pretty matte so you'll need a top coat for shine.
  • Fast Forward Top Coat- I love this top coat! I know people rave about the Seche Vite top coat but since I haven't tried that yet, this'll be my go to. It dries pretty fast and it gives your manicure the most amazing shine! I have it on currently, and my nails have been lasting longer than they did with my previous Sally Hansen top coat.

It's Alive alone, 2 coats

It's Alive + Ghoulish Glow; See the murkiness?

It's Alive + Ghoulish Glow + Black Mesh

All in all, I would recommend this set to anyone who loves anything Halloween. If I had to suggest just one thing though, it'd be It's Alive. The Ghoulish Glow was kind of a let down; it did what it said it was supposed to do, I just wish it didn't drown out the color of the polishes you put it on top of. Thanks so much again Makeup Geek! =)

Hope you liked this review, do you have any of these polishes? [[P.S. I'm giving away my extra It's Alive polish and some other goodies in my giveaway click here to enter!]]

Celebrity Challenge-Day 12

Day 12: An Artist You’d Love To See Live
There are so many! I'm just going to put my top 3:
Colbie Caillat

Taylor Swift

I love all 3 of these ladies and I think they are so vocally talented!! I know that I wouldn't leave disappointed if I got a chance to see them perform live!

She Hulk FOTD

I saw a picture of She Hulk and it made me want to create an inspiration look!

This was so much fun to do! I think I'm going to do a series of these! I'm gonna try not to look to Siryn [[the ultimate comic-book look creator!]] for too much help haha! I'd forgotten she'd done one already, you can check it out here! I hope I did u proud Siryn =)

Would you guys like to see more looks like these? If so, who? And if you created one yourself please leave me a link so I can see it!

Breast Cancer Awareness FOTD

Save The Ta-Ta's!!!

I wanted to do a look dedicated to BCAM. I don't really like how it came out [which is why there's only one picture], but it's about the cause and not my preferences haha. I used my Urban Decay 15th Anniv. Palette for the eyes; Sedona Lace Blush palette for my cheeks and a mixture of lipsticks for my lips.

Day 10: A Celebrity You’d Love To Hang Out With
I'm just going to put the first person I thought of. I think this girl is really sweet inside and out and I love watching her be interviewed. I think she'd be cool to hang out with:

Lucy Hale

Under The Sea EOTD

This blue/green look could be used for someone who is going to be a mermaid for Halloween but don't want too out there makeup. I, personally, would wear this on a night out lol! I hope you enjoy =)

Celebrity Challenge-Day 9

Day 9: Current Celebrity Crush #5
I think he's hot.. . .Even though he's a player

Eric Dane AKA McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy

Big Lots Goodies! Reviews & Swatches

I stopped into Big Lots to see if I could find a deal on some cosmetics and I did! I found the L'Oreal HIP shadows for $1.20 each!!!!! I checked different websites like Ulta, CVS, and Walgreens and they all sell these duos for $7.99. I was SO happy I was able to get them at a bargain!

See how amazingly pigmented they are?! I'm definitely going to be looking at other Big Lots for more of these gems. I can see myself using these a lot of different looks. I was hoping the yellow in Poppy would show up a bit more, but I'm happy to have another matte brown in my collection!! I went from having none to two sources! Awesome!

The next thing I got was some lipsticks. I've been looking for an orange lipstick and also a slightly brighter purple than Va Va Violet and I think I went too bright lol. I also picked some others that appealed to me:

I was most excited about the Peach Colada because it looked so pretty in the tube, but as you can see from the swatch, it is very very sheer. It's really hard to even see it on my lips, bummer. I'm glad I picked up Only Orange though otherwise my orange lipstick search would've been in vain! I really like that lipstick and pair it with my ELF Glossy Gloss in Tangy Tangerine. It may seem a little "summery" but I like the combo a lot and I usually wear it everyday.

Last, but not least I picked up this baked eyeshadow palette from L.A. Colors in Praline. They are really shimmery neutral toned shadows and pretty pigmented:

I can't wait to find another Big Lots to scour through!! I hope I've convinced you to stop by yours and check out the cosmetics aisle!

NOTD: L.A. Girl's Party Animal

I have no idea where I got this polish from. I either bought it a couple of years ago or it could've even come in a gift set, either way, I really like it. It's a warm burgundy red with a slight, almost invisible shimmer. It almost sorta kinda looks chocolate at some angles. I felt it fit the mood of fall. I am resisting the itch of adding a "bling nail". The only reason I haven't is because I haven't found one that matches lol.

[FLASH; before cleanup]

True color
I almost never wear red on my nails so this is taking some getting used to. Do you wear dark nails? Whats your dark nail color, I think I need to add some to my collection. =)

Celebrity Challenge-Day 8

Day 8: Current Celebrity Crush #4

Demi sure did good. . .

Ashton Kutcher

I wanted to use my new NYX items I'd received from HauteLook and this is what I came up with!! I wanted something neutral that I could wear out in the daytime and wouldn't be looked at crazy haha. I think the green makes it pop just a little bit though. =)

I really think I could do this look everyday! What are your everyday makeup looks?
